NUTRITION AND INGREDIENTS

Where can I find product ingredients and nutritional information?
Good news! All our ingredients are already available to you on this website. Visit the 'Shop' page and select the product you are interested in to view the ingredients and nutritional information.

Are your products vegan?
Yes! As a proudly vegan company, all our cheeses and butters and 100% vegan. We do an internal review of our packaging and ingredients to ensure that they are free of animal products. We have strict internal standards for our products and ingredients to confirm they are vegan.

Are your products allergen-friendly?
Most of our products contain cashew milk and some contain coconut. We have two products, our Oat Milk Butter Hint of Sea Salt and our Plant Milk Cheddar Sticks, that do not contain tree nuts, wheat, or soy as ingredients.

Please refer to the back of the label on the package.

Are your products kosher?
All our products are kosher certified, except our Plant Milk Cheddar Sticks.

Are your products gluten-free?
All our products are gluten-free.

Do your products contain soy?
We do not use soy in any of our products

What are your cheese and butter cultures?
We use proprietary cultures that are vegan and do not contain any animal products.

What are your natural flavors and why do you use them?
The natural flavors used in our products are made from fermenting plum, flaxseed, and oregano. We use natural flavors to increase the freshness of our products. They are vegan, do not contribute any flavor, and contain no artificial flavors, pesticides, or GMOs.

Why do you use vegetable juice and what is in it?
The vegetable juice ingredient in our products is used for color. Our vegetable juice is made from apples, carrots, and beetroot.

Do you use coconuts harvested by monkeys?
There are no animals used in the harvesting of coconuts used in our products.

What kind of coconut oil do you use?
We use organic coconut oil which is expeller pressed without the use of solvents.

What kind of sunflower oil do you use?
We use organic high-oleic sunflower oil which is expeller pressed without the use of solvents.

Do you have oil-free products?
Our aged cheeses do not contain oil. They include: Smoked Farmhouse, Sharp Farmhouse, Black Ash and Herbes de Provence. All our Cream Cheeses (Classic Plain, Savory Scallion, Fish-Free Lox, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin) do not contain oil.

Why do you use nutritional yeast?
Nutritional yeast is an inactive yeast grown primarily for nutritional purposes. It is high in protein and B vitamins, including B12. It is commonly used in vegan food, as it contributes to an overall cheesy flavor and adds umami.

Do you make yeast-free products?
Our butter and all our cream cheese flavors (Classic Plain, Savory Scallion, Fish-Free Lox, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin) are yeast-free. In some cases, fermentation can naturally have yeast as a byproduct. If you are sensitive to yeast, we suggest asking your primary doctor or nutritionist to review our products on your behalf.

Do you add MSG to your products?
We do not add MSG to any of our products.

Where are your cashews sourced?
Our organic cashews are sustainably sourced from Vietnam.

The company whom we source cashews from has undergone a Social Responsibility Audit. This audit ensures they treat all employees fairly, pay a living wage, allow appropriate time off, keep shifts to a reasonable length of time, do not employ child labor, and have safe and appropriate facilities for employees.

Are your cashews organic?
Our cashews are certified organic by Oregon Tilth (OTCO), a respected certification organization in business for over 40 years.

Do you use peanuts in our products?
We only use cashews and coconuts in our products, no other nuts are currently used.

What is miso?
Miso is a fermented paste made from grains and legumes. Traditionally, miso is made from soybeans, although we use a rice-based, soy-free miso. It is fermented with koji, which is aspergillus oryzae grown in rice.

What herbs are used in your Garlic Herb Wheel?
The organic herbs in the Garlic Herb cheese wheel are tarragon, marjoram, and thyme.

What herbs are used in your Herbs de Provence Wheel?
We use a combination of thyme, rosemary, tarragon, lavender, marjoram, and savory in the Herbs de Provence wheel.

PRODUCTS

How should I store Miyoko’s Cheese and Butter?
All our products are perishable and must be kept refrigerated.

How long does Miyoko's Cheese and Butter last?
Our products should not be consumed beyond a week or so after the best by date. Once opened, the products are good for two weeks.

Can I freeze Miyoko's Cheeses and Butters?
Yes! We recommend freezing many of our products to increase the shelf life by three to six months.

The following cheeses and butters freeze beautifully: Classic Double Cream Chive, Double Cream Sundried Tomato Garlic, Double Cream Garlic Herb, Salted European Style Cultured Vegan Butter, Unsalted European Style Cultured Vegan Butter and Spreadable Cultured Vegan Oat Milk Butter.

Our Liquid Vegan Pizza Mozzarella can be frozen. On rare occasions, the bottle lid may crack if kept in the freezer for an extended period.

To maintain the best quality of our products, we do not recommend freezing our Traditional Fresh Mozzarella, Smoked Fresh Mozzarella, Cultured Vegan Cream Cheese (Plain, Fish-Free Lox, Savory Scallion, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin), Roadhouse Cheddar Classic Sharp, Fresh French Style Winter Truffle, Aged Sharp English Farmhouse, Aged Smoked English Farmhouse, Aged Black Ash, Aged Herbes De Provence and Plant Milk Cheddar Sticks.

What should I do if I purchased a product with a quality issue?

Where can I find Miyoko's Products?
Our products are available at most Whole Foods Markets, Target stores, Sprouts Markets, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Kroger, Publix and many more stores throughout the country. We recommend using the store locator on our website to locate a store near you. Our products are also available for home delivery (US only) through our online store.

SHIPPING

What are your shipping policies?
Miyoko’s ships to all 50 U.S. states and ships on Weekdays via UPS Ground and, to some addresses, UPS 2-Day Air. We also may ship via Better Trucks. Shipments can be delivered any day of the week. Physical addresses only. We cannot ship to PO Boxes or APO, FPO, and AP addresses.
