Our Stakeholders: People

From the farmers who grow our ingredients, to our passionate and dedicated employees, everyone plays an essential role in our business.

People are at the heart of everything we do

We know that every person who contributes to our business plays an essential role in our success, and we are committed to nurturing relationships with each person that plays a role – from farm to consumer. We are working hard to establish relationships across the food system, particularly with the farmers and farmworker communities who provide us with the highest quality, sustainable ingredients. We recognize that farmers often receive minimal profits for their work, and therefore supporting ethical sourcing has become an essential business function for us. Between our direct sourcing projects and our work with farmer advocacy nonprofits, we hope to use our role in the food system for the better and redistribute wealth to farmers, the backbone of our food system.

WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY

Our compassion for people extends through the food system to our skilled and passionate employees. We recognize that our success is a direct result of our employees hard work and dedication – and are committed to providing each person a safe, supportive, and inclusive workplace. Our Culture Committee is composed of 10 employees, with at least one from each department. We work hard every month to create a welcoming and energetic environment by hosting happy hours, Lunch and Learns with surrounding natural product businesses, and at least one large bonding event per quarter. We also have a company wide mentorship program to connect employees from different departments and encourage continuous learning. We believe that by investing in our employees’ well-being and professional development, we can create a workplace that is both fulfilling and inspiring.

We also recognize the importance of supporting the local communities we serve. We are proud to partner with organizations that share our values and are committed to making a positive impact on the world. By donating our time, resources, and profits to causes that align with our mission, we expand our value of conviviality and compassion past the walls of our office.

Last, but certainly not least, is our wonderful consumers. Without our consumers, Miyoko’s Creamery wouldn’t exist – and you’re the reason we are always trying to better our products and expand our positive impact in the world. Thank you, for everything!  Food encompasses much more than mere nourishment. For us at Miyoko’s, it serves as a means of forging connections with others and advocating for a kinder world. We take great pride in providing delectable offerings that nurture good in the world and bring people together across the food system. We appreciate your continued support as we explore what it means to use business as a force for good.
